Blue Sky (1X3C2725)
Vertical panoramic with deep blue sky over the rocky shallows at Eagle Bay, Dunsborough, South West, Western Australia.
Captured on a sunny perfect day at Eagle Bay, near Dunsborough. This image was purposely taken in vertical format to highlight the ridiculously clear deep blue skies in contrast to the clean white sand and turquoise waters that are stereo typical of the area. A little twig in the foreground, curved shoreline and contrasting rocks complete the composition. Subtle leading lines to the centre of the frame provided by the curve of the shore line, and the hide tide patterns in the sand. Reasonably simplistic in nature, this is one of my favourites.
Titled “Blue Sky” given the amazing sky that day.
The South West corner of Western Australia has many magical spots, with Eagle Bay, not far from Dunsborough a standout. Which is why I guess in the wooded hinterland behind it lies some of Western Australia’s most expensive holiday houses. The coastline is normally calm with clear water and white sandy beaches, separated by orange coloured rocky outcrops and points. Protected by Cape Naturaliste from the relentless large ocean swells, it is in stark contrast to the other side of the cape, world famous for its large and powerful surf breaks.
