Cold Feet (1X1C3547)
Early morning long exposure on a cold day at Castle Rock Beach, Dunsborough, South West, Western Australia.
After spotting the fisherman arrive and take up a position on the point of Castle Rock Beach, mentioned with respect to the image “Fishing Time”, I decided to concentrate on alternative images with a narrower view point. Whilst walking along the beach in bare feet, I noticed the wet sand was very cold and it wasn’t long before my feet were beginning to feel the effects of the early morning chill. I deliberately left this image in colour, despite it being taken before the sky changed rapidly from the subdued blue hue to a pink then orange, as I thought it conveyed a cooler feel combined with the wet sand in the foreground and thus exactly what my feet were feeling at the time!
Titled “Cold Feet” to reflect the feeling in my feet whilst waiting for the slow shutter release to end.
Castle Rock Beach is a popular swimming and fishing beach near Dunsborough in Western Australia’s beautiful South West. It’s also a very heavily photographed place perhaps due to its proximity to Dunsborough. The beach gets its name from the rock structure at the eastern end, which resembles a castle with a little imagination.
