High Key (1X1C3561)
Simple high key subdued sunrise at Castle Rock Bay, Dunsborough, South West, Western Australia.
This simple, light coloured and softly toned image captured on Castle Rock Beach, near Dunsborough just as the sun was rising over the horizon, is the sister image to “Minimalist”. Both images being taken from the same spot within minutes of each other. The only difference being an adjustment to camera angle to recompose the scene and provide a slightly lighter exposure.
A long exposure was used to flatten and mist the water, whilst exposing the frame correctly in the dim light at the time. All combined to provide a calm and peaceful feel to the viewer, reflecting my mood at the time.
Titled “High Key” to reflect the light exposure of the image.
Castle Rock Beach is a popular swimming and fishing beach near Dunsborough in Western Australia’s beautiful South West. It’s also a very heavily photographed place perhaps due to its proximity to Dunsborough. The beach gets its name from the rock structure at the eastern end, which resembles a castle with a little imagination.
