Round Boulder (1X1C1981)

Interesting round boulder in the foreground of a long exposure image near Moses Rock at sunset, Yallingup, South West, Western Australia.

Not far from Honeycombs Beach, well I should say Honeycombs beach isn’t far from Moses Rock as you typically pass the Moses Rock area to get to Honeycombs Beach.

This image, which is undoubtedly one of my all-time favourites was taken mid-way between Moses Rock and Honeycombs Beach at low tide during a beautiful sunset. I personally love so much about this image. From the reflections of the water on the exposed reef, the round boulder in the right hand side foreground, the distant Moses Rock on the right, the long exposure frosted water disguising how rough it really was and capped off by a beautiful coloured sunset, almost totally devoid of clouds.

Titled “Round Boulder” to reflect the little round boulder in the foreground that looked out of place on the flat reef.

Moses Rock is just north of Honeycombs Beach near Yallingup in the South West of Western Australia. A spectacular coastline with rocky shorelines and large rock slabs. Often battered by relentless large and powerful ocean swells during the winter. Popular with surfers and fishermen when the conditions allow. Also a popular place for photography.
