An absolutely stunning day on the coast near Eagle Bay, in the south west of Western Australia. Picture perfect you may say. I couldn’t go past without taking some images that reflected the natural beauty of Eagle Bay combined with beautiful spring weather.

In composing this image I wanted to capture the textures in the white sand, the curve of the shore line, the calm crystal clear water and the structure of the rocks. To enhance the texture of the sand and ensure the ripples were clear, I had to set my tripod low in the sand and lay down to compose the shot.

Titled “Stunning Afternoon” as there were simply no other words for it.

The South West corner of Western Australia has many magical spots, with Eagle Bay, not far from Dunsborough a standout. Which is why I guess in the wooded hinterland behind it lies some of Western Australia’s most expensive holiday houses. The coastline is normally calm with clear water and white sandy beaches, separated by orange coloured rocky outcrops and points. Protected by Cape Naturaliste from the relentless large ocean swells, it is in stark contrast to the other side of the cape, world famous for its large and powerful surf breaks.
